How to Choose the Right Mirror?

Mirrors are a great tool for drivers to see what's going on around them. They are a standard safety feature on all modern vehicles.

However, mass-production vehicles are not tailor-made for the end user, and some drivers experience blind spots — areas where visibility is limited. Blind spots can be a significant safety hazard, so it's important to address them by properly adjusting your mirrors. Unfortunately, adjustments alone can only offer so much field of vision, and adding an aftermarket mirror can help significantly reduce blind spots.

Broadway Mirrors

Broadway Mirrors are one of the most effective ways to eliminate blind spots and improve visibility while driving. Available in a variety of sizes, finishes, and coatings, every model is designed with one goal in mind — maximizing your field of view so you can drive with confidence.

Easy 3-Step Guide

Step 1: Choose Your Size

Step 2: Flat or Convex?

Step 3: Pick Your Coating

Step 1: Choose Your Size

Most OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) mirrors measure around 220mm and feature curved edges — designed primarily for aesthetics rather than optimal visibility. Broadway Mirrors addresses this with three size options: 240mm (9.45"), 270mm (10.63"), and 300mm (11.81").

A note on size: Bigger isn't Always Better.

While a larger mirror maximizes visibility, going too large may interfere with your sun visor. In that case, you can offset the mirror mount to one side — but in most situations, we recommend choosing a size that doesn't interfere with your vehicle's stock equipment.

Ultimately, the right length comes down to personal preference and your specific vehicle.

Step 2: Flat vs Convex

Broadway Mirrors come in two styles: Flat and Convex — referring to the curvature of the reflective surface.

Convex

Flat

Convex mirrors offer a wider viewing area than Flat mirrors, but with some trade-offs. The curved surface can cause slight image distortion around the edges, making objects appear further away than they actually are — something to keep in mind if you wear corrective lenses.

One helpful reference point: the Convex 240mm offers roughly the same coverage as the Flat 300mm. When it comes to safety, visibility should always be the top priority — but personal comfort matters too.

Flat mirrors provide a true-to-life reflection without any distortion — what you see is exactly what's behind you.
Recommended if you want a wider field of view.
Recommended if you prefer a true, undistorted reflection.

Step 3: Pick Your Coating

Broadway Mirrors are available with three coatings, Aluminum, Chrome, and Blue. Each has unique properties, advantages, and disadvantages.

Aluminum Coating

Aluminum coating mirrors feature a lighter tint than most OEM and other Broadway mirrors, allowing more light in for a brighter, clearer reflection.
This makes them an ideal choice for vehicles with tinted rear windows, where the stock mirror may struggle in low-light conditions.

Chrome Coating

Chrome coating mirrors feature a darker tint than most OEM and other Broadway mirrors, effectively reducing glare from sunlight and headlights.
This makes them an ideal choice for lowered vehicles, where headlight glare in the rear view mirror is a common issue.

Blue Coating

Blue Coating mirrors cut down on glare immensely, while preserving most of the light entering the reflective surface. A similar coating is often found on the mirrors of many German vehicles. This mirror achieves the same glare reduction as the Chrome and the brightness of the Aluminum through the use of the specially tinted glass surface.

How to Install Your Broadway Mirror

Most Broadway Mirrors attach to your stock mirror using a spring-loaded clip-on mechanism. The clips feature rubber pads for a secure, rattle-free fit. While compatible with most OEM mirrors, we recommend confirming compatibility before purchase, as mirror thickness may vary by vehicle.
